Push-to-talk over cellular works like a normal two-way radio. You press to talk and release to listen. The difference is that it uses cellular and Wi-Fi networks instead of radio repeaters, so your team has coverage across towns, provinces, or the whole country without extra infrastructure.

The Sefeko 101 is an Android-based, rugged push-to-talk radio for any frontline team, and it includes a full guard monitoring module as well. The Guard is purpose-built for one job; the 101 adds two-way voice over cellular for wider use.

Sefeko sets up the channels on your 101 devices according to your requirements. We also support site-specific configuration. A device automatically switches to the correct channel set when it moves between sites, which is useful for radios that travel between locations with different setups.

Does the system record PTT conversations?

Yes. All channels are securely recorded on our servers. Authorised users can retrieve recordings in MP3 format through a user interface.

What happens when a panic button is pressed?

Accepted Answer

A panic alert is sent to the Sefeko system immediately, at the highest priority. From there: The control centre receives the panic event. An SMS alert is sent to configured phones. The device's GPS location is included with the alert and shown on the control centre map and in the SMS. Live GPS tracking stays active throughout the incident, visible on the control centre.

How does the GPS work?

The device sends GPS updates to the Sefeko system at intervals, and the frequency changes with how the device is being used: Low frequency when the device is stationary in the charger. Higher frequency during patrols, so the route can be tracked. Rapid updates during a panic, so the device can be followed in real time.

Do you have a GPS report?

Our cloud-based portal lets you view location data for specific dates and times, so you can track and map activity easily. Your data stays available for as long as your account is active.

What security measures protect my data?

We protect your data in several ways: The device is tamper-proof. Any attempt to extract data triggers a complete wipe of everything stored on it. All data transmissions are encrypted. Data is stored securely on the Sefeko servers.

Yes. We currently integrate with Online Intelligence and Oryx Listener, and we are open to adding other integrations based on your needs.

How does the Sefeko 101 make control room work easier?

The 101 and our control room software give you a real-time view of your sites and make it easier to manage by exception: Roll call: confirm a guard is on site and ready to start their shift. Real-time patrols: see all guard patrols as they happen. Incident management: log corrective action against incidents. Communication: talk to guards over PTT, let guards reach the control room, and give supervisors their own dedicated channel. Panic alerts: a guard's panic is shown on the system and on configured phones, ready to be actioned. Reporting: detailed reports help you spot the sites with issues and focus on them. Reports can be sent to clients as SLA reporting.

Does Sefeko require a fixed-term contract?

No. There are no fixed-term contracts. You pay per day, only for the days your services are active and the days you have leased equipment in your possession. Lease charges stop as soon as the equipment is returned.

Do I need a SIM card or airtime contract to use Sefeko?

Accepted Answer

The radios work over cellular and Wi-Fi networks, so they use SIM cards for cellular coverage. Sefeko supply the SIM cards and the data-usage is included in the Services fees. You do not need a separate fixed airtime contract or additional costs. Your services are billed per day through our cloud platform.
